Helping local people in crisis
Corby Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in the local area. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
A Growing Storage Space Problem
The Charity’s current challenge is the huge amount of donated items from the harvest festival and for Christmas, which have been donated by the churches, supermarkets, schools and community groups. Corby Foodbank already has storage facilities in Smartbox Self Storage Corby but this has now been stretched to capacity and they need extra storage units. The overspill of donations needs to be stored securely in a place that is easily accessible to the volunteers preparing food parcels before the supply to those in need.
The Solution - Corby Self Storage Units
Since the beginning of October, Corby Foodbank has taken on a 100 sq ft indoor self storage unit at Smartbox Self Storage Corby, close to their existing warehouse, which gives the additional storage that they need for easy access by the volunteers. This unit is dry, safe and secure for all their ambient goods that are received via donations, with 24 hour CCTV monitoring, 7 days a week and on-site management and maintenance staff to help with all their needs.

Smartbox Self Storage is a member of the Self Storage Association and is competitively priced with the option to have insurance on the indoor storage unit or container storage payable within the monthly cost. We have storage facilities in Oundle, Desborough, Stamford, Leicester and Corby Book online here.
